Bo-Nita by Elizabeth Heffron
February 14 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm
An event every week that begins at 7:30 pm on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, repeating until March 1, 2020
An event every week that begins at 2:00 pm on Sunday, repeating until March 1, 2020
A show that demonstrates what it means to have hope and resilience, along with a great sense of humor. Join us as intellectually gifted and hilariously imaginative 13-year-old, Bo-Nita, learns life’s lessons while observing the behaviors of those around her, for better or for worse.
Bo-Nita opens at the DENIZEN after its award-winning run this fall at NYC United Solo Festival. At the festival, it was awarded the best in the Storytelling category, a big kudos to this great actor, Terri Weagant, and her wonderful director, Summer Wallace.
Actor Terri Weagant performed in DENIZEN’s smash hit, ‘Every Brilliant Thing,’ also a solo performance. The audience loved Terri so much the show was extended. An award winning actor, writer, and director, Terri awakens the 13-year-old within all of us in her performance of Bo-Nita.
“You could say that life gets a little weird for precocious 13-year-old Bo-Nita when she finds her ex-stepfather dead on her bedroom floor. With humor, pathos, and a dash of Midwestern magical realism, this wild one-woman, seven character adventure follows a mother and daughter’s elaborate plan to hold their dysfunctional family together.”
–The NYC United Solo Festival Storytelling Winner!
“Terri Weagant absolutely illuminates the stage…If you want to see some fine acting and come away feeling in awe of what you just witnessed, Bo-Nita is the play for you.”
