Opening Reception: Friday, July 5, 2019 5-8pm
The Queen City 15 Fine Art Gallery will present “Summertime: Remembered and Savored” from Friday July 5, 2019-Friday July 26, 2019 with paintings by William Noonan and etchings, photo screen prints and ceramics by Anita Fina Kiewra. There will be a reception, featuring acoustic guitarist Joy Zelada, which is open to the public on Friday July 5th from 5:00pm-8:00pm at the gallery located at 317 Main Street.
Mr. Noonan’s paintings invite us to experience the transition from boy to man by glimpsing their intimate summer moments. The works have a tangible connection to the traditions of western art, with a nod to the Italian Baroque and the Proto-Impressionists. At the same time Mr. Noonan’s thought-provoking depiction and aesthetic components render the paintings contemporary and timeless.
Ms. Kiewra is a multi-media artist and art teacher. She brings summertime to us through the sport of rowing as viewed and experienced by both participant and coach. The exhibit includes a new collection of ceramic platters based on oar blades that are the colors of the crews that row on the Hudson at Poughkeepsie and a series of intimate etchings and prints of rowers at the Hudson River Community Boathouse.
