Your donation dollars are spent wisely
We fully realize that you make important choices in your contributions. Arts Mid-Hudson is proud to be entrusted with distributing New York State’s arts funding across Dutchess, Orange, and Ulster Counties. This funding goes right back out into our community through the funding of local arts organizations and individual artist projects. For example, Javier Moreno used his project grant funds for “Air, Visual Concert for Nomads.” This multimedia light projection on the Poughkeepsie Underwear Factory was accompanied by a live musical performance, encouraging local residents to linger and enjoy a concert. It also brought residents together downtown and provided an opportunity to reimagine the area as a place to experience music and art programming. This only one project of many that shows how Arts Mid-Hudson supports effective engagement with the community by introducing art to entire families, some for the first time. Arts Mid-Hudson has also worked to strengthen local community groups by working as the organizing partner for Art Walk Kingston. Our store-front gallery space has been host to a broad spectrum of activities from regional artists, including changing exhibitions and performances, such as “Black History through Poetry” during poetry month, and folk arts events that featured hands-on Japanese writing traditions of Kakizome. We look forward to upcoming curatorial projects in our gallery space, as well as increased workshops for artist professional development and the community’s experiential learning. Your gift ensures that our work continues to foster the arts in our region. With much gratitude from the entire Arts Mid-Hudson staff, Linda Marston-Reid, Executive Director Lisa Fiorese, Director, Administration Merritt Minnemeyer, Grants & Funding Manager Melissa Dvozenja-Thomas, Marketing & Funding Coordinator Elinor Levy, Folk Arts Program Manager Lilia Perez, Grants Associate.
