+ Call for Visual Artists - 2025 Banned Books Trading Card Project

Attention all visual artists. We are looking for artists to create original works of art depicting reimagined book covers of banned or challenged books that will become a trading card in our banned books trading cards.

Application deadline is May 31st, but you will have until July 15th to submit the actual work.

There will be a corresponding exhibition during the month of September and an artists' reception on September 6th. All participating artists will receive a deck of trading cards.

+ Come vend at the Spring Garden Faire at Locust Grove Estate!

Sunday, April 27th 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM (Last ticket entry at 2:00 PM) We are seeking VENDORS to sell their goods on the grounds and in the gardens of our historic estate. The event is a rain or shine event (We will set up indoors, if necessary, at Locust Grove’s discretion.)

Locust Grove is excited to collaborate with Cornell Cooperative Extension Dutchess County for our first Spring Garden Faire! Guests will enjoy the springtime flowers and trees in our beautiful garden, learn tips and tricks on flower and vegetable gardening, beekeeping, and more! There will be a food truck, kids activities, and garden presentations.

Far & Wide National: Every Picture Tells a Story: a national open call exploring the relationship between art and storytelling. We invite artists to submit works that reflect the idea of storytelling, whether through abstract, emotional, or non-linear narratives. We encourage all forms of storytelling, whether linear or not. Stories don’t have to follow a conventional path—this exhibition is about how art evokes and conveys a narrative. Submissions are welcome in any medium—painting, photography, sculpture, and mixed media. We especially encourage works that incorporate sculpture or mixed media elements, as they offer unique ways to tell stories beyond the two-dimensional.

+ Call for Entries - Dutchess County Fairgrounds Mural Project

n partnership with Dutchess County Fairgrounds, Destination Dutchess (previously Dutchess Tourism), and Arts Mid-Hudson, artists are welcome to submit their vision for a commissioned mural at the Dutchess County Fairgrounds in 2025.

The Dutchess County Fairgrounds Mural Project asks artists, “How does agriculture unite us?” The successful project at the Dutchess County Fairgrounds would be rooted in the traditions of Dutchess County, highlighting agritourism experiences from family farms, local orchards, wineries, breweries, domestic and fine arts, and the natural beauty of our horticulture. The successful proposed mural will highlight the experiences visitors enjoy at the Dutchess County Fairgrounds including festivals, flower shows, animal interactions, u-pick, and farm stand shopping. Artists may submit an independent or collaborative proposal.

+ 2026 Exhibition Opportunities at the Cunneen-Hackett Arts Center

The Cunneen-Hackett Arts Center has begun accepting artists to exhibit with us in 2026. We have three beautiful galleries to fill, and this is a wonderful opportunity for artists to show their work in either solo or group exhibitions. The Artists in our galleries are promoted via our press releases, our website, our newsletters, and through our printed brochures. Please be aware that we are able to exhibit wall-hung art only. + Call for Art - 2025 Art in the Loft at Millbrook Vineyards & Winery

Arts Mid-Hudson (AMH), in partnership with Millbrook Vineyards & Winery, will once again curate an art exhibit in the loft space above the Winery’s main building. This project, known as Art in the Loft, is a good opportunity for members of Arts Mid-Hudson to display and sell their work. Artworks selected for the Art in the Loft exhibit will be entered into the popular Wine Label Competition. We invite all AMH member artists to submit work to be juried for inclusion in Art in the Loft. There is no entry fee; however, you must be an AMH member.

+ Open Call for New Members - BAU Gallery

BAU Gallery welcomes applications from Mid-Hudson artists who are actively engaged in their practice, who strive for a high level of professionalism in their work, and who are interested in becoming a member of our artist community. BAU members regularly exhibit and sell their work at the gallery and engage with various audiences through programming and events that complement their individual practices.

BAU Gallery’s mission is to exhibit fine art and build a diverse, artistic community. We are an equal opportunity artist-run cooperative with transparent operations and shared responsibilities. Artist-led cooperatives have a rich history in New York and in this spirit BAU has thrived since 2004. With 20 consecutive years of exhibitions we are one of Beacon’s oldest continually operating galleries.

All of our members share in the duties necessary for the running of a successful gallery. Membership is juried by current members via websites, social media, and submitted images.

ART DISPLAY AND EXHIBIT GUIDELINES STANFORD FREE LIBRARY 6035 Route 82 Stanfordville, NY 125810 Guidelines for the Stanford Free Library lobby display area:

  • Art work will require approval by a library representative. The size and number of art pieces may be limited at the discretion of the library representative.
  • Artists are invited to display their work for 2 months and may change their pieces anytime during the display period. Set up is recommended for the last week of the month so display may be featured in the monthly newsletter.
  • Art displays will be promoted in our monthly newsletter, Facebook and website. Notices will be sent to the local newspapers; Hudson Valley News, Northern Dutchess News, Millerton News, Chronogram and Main Street magazines.
  • A schedule will be maintained by the library with contact information for current and interested artists.
  • Artist will be required to sign the library Waiver Form.
  • A list of the displayed art with pricing, supplied by the artist, will be held at the circulation desk as a reference for library staff to quote pricing. Interested buyers will be referred to the artist for the purchase of their artwork. -An opening reception is welcome. The artist needs to co-ordinate the event with the library director. Refreshments, setup and cleanup is the artist's responsibility. Reception date will be included in our initial promotions. Personal invites are the artist's responsibility.
