“A Maroon Tale” is a multimedia, hero’s journey about an African who uses sacred belief systems to help cope with the unimaginable horrors of slavery. Through the power of belief, and with the help of fellow resistors, the group escapes and creates a new life of freedom, sovereignty and independence in their own impenetrable community. Our hero also lives a parallel, alternate reality by growing up in a contemporary urban environment, survives the criminal justice system, and emerges triumphant as an independent, successful entrepreneur.
