Price Per Student: $5 AMH members; $15 non-members - scholarships for workshops available - contact info@artsmidhudson.org with Subject Line: “Workshop Scholarship”
Age: Any working artist with their own business or working on starting a business. Hobby or professional.
Workshop Description: Learn your worth as an artist, how do you price your work? I will show how pricing your work matters with how customers value you. Too high and they will move on, too low and they will question your quality and expertise.
We will work together to find your comfort zone and value.
Materials Needed: Two works of art in person if possible. One piece must be the work you don’t want to sell because you love it so much. The second piece is an average piece that is often sold at shows or online. Ex: a mug, vase, small painting, print, original, etc whatever your medium. If the work is unable to be brought please bring many photos of different angles and sizes of the work. It’s best if it’s with you but we can work around that.
About the Teaching Artist: Nicole Jurain is a local Hudson Valley artist who’s been a potter for 33 years. Last year she was accepted and sold work at The Smithsonian Craft Show’s 40th anniversary in Washington DC.
Nicole has created an original design for her signature piece for the Mohonk Tower landscape and has been consistently selling them for the past 15 years. These items are owned in many countries around the world.
12 years ago she created her Jupiter Collection which has gained attention and been purchased by high-end collectors of ceramic art.
Nicole has been assisting and helping other artists make their prices make sense for their customers for several years. She wants to see everyone succeed. She feels if we all hold fast to our worth our customers will not question, and if they do, you will be secure enough to respond or not.
